We have had a busy week, on Friday night with a Gig at Uki hall, where they had to start turning away people as the hall can only hold a max of 250 people. As well as Hamilton DJ pulse, we were blessed to listen to some great music from Oka www.okamusic.com. We have 3 of their CD’s, so it was great to be able to get up close and photograph them playing.

On Saturday night we had an other Gig at the Church in Uki, where 3 very talented local songwriter musicians graced us with some beautiful original music. First there was Wendy Grace singing some of her original songs that had a great deal of personal meaning to them so it was great that she was able to share so much with us. Then came Fiona who with flute and keyboard sang some of her originals also. I hadn’t heard Fiona Ryan before so it was a pleasant surprise to catch up with an other very talented local. Murray Kyle was the last on and as usual blessed us with his beautiful melodies once again all originals. What a great night, and we managed to get some reasonable shots, despite the very low light.




On Sunday we ran the last workshop of a series of three, four hour workshops. Once again we had a great time with all of the participants really getting into it with a little macro photography with water lilies (the frogs had gone AWOL) and seeing what a macro lens is like compared to a standard lens. We also covered composition and the many elements of composition.
